October is National Learning and Development month—a time to recognize the importance of education and learning at every stage of life! Here at Mr. Cooper Group, we encourage our team members to continue learning new skills that will improve their personal and professional lives. Check out some of the learning and development opportunities that we offer our team members and our community.

1. JA (Junior Achievement) in a Day

Junior Achievement is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to know for their financial success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices.

Mr. Cooper Group has partnered with Junior Achievement for JA in a Day for the past three years. For one day, Mr. Cooper Group volunteers will present an interactive curriculum and make a significant impact on local students. Learn more.

2. So You Think You Want to Be a Leader

Earlier this year, our talent management team launched our So You Think You Want to Be a Leader initiative designed to mold aspiring leader and connect with current leaders in the organization.

Eligible team members were given the opportunity to apply and interview for the program. Through a structured selection process, 32 candidates were chosen and have been given the opportunity to learn leadership essentials and immediately apply key learnings.

Participants attend virtual training courses, complete coursework, and meet with a small group co-led by a team coach and program mentor.

3. Cooper Climbers

Our Cooper Climbers program is a career development initiative that provides a clear path for our customer service agents and dedicated loan associates to take ownership of advancing their career. The program consists of pathways that include rigorous training and Degreed course requirements designed to help agents master tough challenges and provide radical customer service. Team members can take charge of developing new skills and how fast and far they advance in their career.

3. Leadership Longview

Leadership Longview is the annual leadership development program organized by the Longview Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Cooper Group sponsors Longview, Texas, team members to attend the program on behalf of the organization. The program’s goal is to provide the city with a source of diverse leaders who are prepared and committed to serve as sustainers of positive change for the quality of life in the Longview community.

5. Degreed

Degreed is a tool where our team members can learn smarter, build their skills, and show their expertise. Through Degreed, team members can indicate the topics and skills they want to learn about, and the platform will serve the best articles, books, videos, podcasts, courses, and people within Mr. Cooper Group based on their interests and learning habits. Degreed is designed to help drive meaningful learning experiences into our team’s daily lives—whether professionally or personally.
