“The ‘Southern Sky’ surreal world focuses on another infatuation I have with my Texan home: the wide-open skies. Whenever I travel abroad to other countries, one of the first things I miss about home is the flat-land-Dallas skies where you can see from horizon to horizon. The cloudy, open Texas skies remind me of my Southern United States home, while mixing in visual puns/mash-ups like cacti clouds and armadillo hot air balloons in my Wheron stylized illustrations.”
