Samantha McCurdy is a native Philadelphian who received her BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture from Maryland Institute College of Art. She is currently living in Dallas, Texas, working on personal collections as well as providing curatorial services to other artists. She runs a burgeoning art pavilion and creative space called That That in Deep Ellum. That That functions as an art studio for Samantha and other featured artists. The space often hosts charity events, musical assemblages, film screenings and other creative contributions to the art community.

Her work changes regularly, but she is most known for her “”Snug”” paintings which the artist coined during the 2014 Dallas Art Fair. The snug paintings are modular multiples that stack vertically and appear to “”link”” with each other. They are typically square or rectangular frames with three-dimensional objects attached internally that poke through the front of the painting creating a three-dimensional surface.
